Capacity Building Programme for Senior Officials of Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA), Chennai on “Computer Application for Land Use Planning.”

Two batches (30-31 August 2018 and 6-7 September 2018) of training were organized in collaboration with the Centre for Urbanization, Buildings and Environment (CUBE), a Centre of Excellence of IIT Madras and Government of Tamil Nadu. Tasks undertaken include:

• Development of training modules on Challenges in urban planning; maps for planning; remote sensing data acquisition and use etc.
• Resource persons with hands on experience for delivering sessions;
• Technical sessions on Geo-spatial technologies; LIDAR; GIS; methodology for master plan etc.
• Hands on experience on GIS applications for land use; CMDA-LUIS.
