Urban Planning and Development is the forte of STEM. We have extensive expertise in preparation, revision and assessing implementation of city and town levels Plans. Municipal Finances, Slum Development; Demand for Housing; Urban Renewal; Enhancing Municipal Services Delivery; Rapid Appraisal of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs); Evolving a Model for Earmarking Land; Rationalizing and Devolving of Urban Development; Formation of IT/ BT Parks; Preparation of Urban Database Indicators and Service Level Benchmarks (SLB) etc. are other important assignments in this sector.
STEM has also carried out capacity building; evaluation of housing projects; Organisation Studies for Urban Development Authority etc. Another set of activities involve Project Management Support for capacity building and water supply and drainage projects.
