Technical Support for Hogenakkal Water Supply and Fluorosis Mitigation Project.

The project covers two districts in Tamil Nadu namely Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri. This was funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Technical Support was provided by STEM for 54 months to this project.

Wide variety of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials were designed and produced such as posters, wall hangings etc. for display in schools, health facilities and public places. Flip charts, pamphlets etc. were also designed for use by different stakeholders to disseminate messages related to fluorosis and its mitigation. Lables with fluorosis mitigation were printed and supplied to school children for sticking on their books. 500 Folk Media/Street Play have been organised in both Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts. Also as a part of the IEC interventions, 5 Radio Talks and 1 Panel Discussion were conducted in All India Radio (AIR) Dharmapuri.
