Regular Monitoring by NLM 2025-26, Phase-I - Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.
The overall goal of the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Government of India (GoI) is ‘to achieve socio-economic transformation in rural areas’ by focusing on poverty eradication, increasing livelihood opportunities, and developing essential infrastructure. The purpose of the National Level Monitoring (NLM) system is to strengthen all the rural development programmes and ensure the effectiveness, transparency, and progress of implementation. STEM has been associated as an Institutional – National Level Monitors with the MoRD, since 2017. The NLM visits fall in to two categories: a) Regular rounds (mostly one in six months); b) Special Rounds (occasional).
This regular round has covered 15 blocks of five districts in two states viz. Andhra Pradesh; and Telangana state. The monitoring visit covered Eleven programmes/Schemes of the MoRD namely,
- Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS);
- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) [PMAY(G)];
- National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP);
- Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM);
- Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)(Except quality);
- Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY);
- Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana – Watershed Development (PMKSY);
- Digital India Land Records Modernisation Programme (DILRMP);
- Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY);
- Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETIs); and
- Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas (SVAMITVA)
