Preparation of DPR for Restoration and Comprehensive Development of Abbankuppe Lake.

This was taken up under the CSR interventions of Toyota Kirloskar Motors Pvt. Ltd. (TKM), Ramanagara. At the first step a Detailed Project Report (DPR) was prepared for rejuvenation of the lake. The lake was restored by Removal of Slush; Desilting; Bund Formations; Improvements to Lake Water Spread area; Waste Weir; etc. Lake development included Fencing; Separate tank for Idol Immersion; Parks and Playgrounds. The lake was rejuvenated by treating the sewerage water entering into the lake by placing Wetland System, Silt Traps and Collection Chamber. An analysis revealed that there is substantial improvement in essential parameters like Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), and Total Solids after rejuvenation of the lake.
