National Level Monitor (NLM) for Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD)

The purpose of the National Level Monitoring (NLM) system is to strengthen all the rural development programmes and ensure effectiveness, transparency and progress of implementation. The NLM visits are two types:

  • Regular rounds (Mostly one in six months): Till 2025 we have conducted 11 rounds of Regular Monitoring spread across six states/UTs namely Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Maharashtra, Telangana covering 56 districts, 188 blocks and 512 GPs. All the MoRD Schemes are covered in each of the Regular Rounds.
  • Special Rounds (Occasional): So far STEM has completed seven rounds of Special Monitoring covering 15 districts, 57 blocks and 144 GPs in five states namely Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha Telangana. Each round is devoted to one or two of the schemes or campaigns of MoRD like Gram Swaraj Abhyian, Mission Antyodaya & People’s Plan etc.

Regional Workshops: Each Regular Round of MoRD is usually followed by a regional workshop sharing the experiences of NLMs and Coordinating agency and MoRD.
