Evaluation of Mid-day Meals Scheme (MMS) in Karnataka.

The study was financed by Department of Public Instruction (DPI), Government of Karnataka. The study is a sample survey of 4500 beneficiaries of MDM from 450 schools covering all taluks of Karnataka. Data was generated on

  • Nutritional and health status based on a) anthropometric measurements and b) Haemoglobin level;
  • Learning abilities
  • Trend in enrolment, attendance was also analysed
  • Food samples were collected from sample schools and analysed for nutritive value in a laboratory.
